
TEHRAN Irans day-to-day gasoline intake is expected to hit 135 million liters throughout the Nowruz holidays, up from the current 124 million liters each day, the head of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) said.During a visit to the Rey Oil Depot in southern Tehran, Keramat Veis Karami stated that gasoline production in the countrys refineries has actually increased by 8.0 million liters each day in the second half of the year to satisfy rising demand.He assured that enough fuel reserves have been stockpiled and that the ground transportation fleet for gas circulation will stay on high alert from March 15 to April 3 to make sure smooth fuel supply across the country.Regarding mobile fuel circulation stations, Veis Karami stated they would remain operational during Nowruz, with enough gasoline reserves currently kept in northern Iran to fulfill holiday demand.On the subject of imported premium fuel and its possible sale on the energy exchange, he kept in mind that necessary authorizations have yet to be released, and pricing would be identified through supply and demand mechanisms on the Iran Energy Exchange (IRENEX).
